![]() ![]() ![]() Is there anything better?ĮDIT: I've been trying NDI - on some days it works well, on others it doesn't. Now I'm screen projecting gaming monitor to Elgato as a workaround. Tried NDI - it's good, but often not 100% smooth. TL DR: Have a 1400p144 monitor, have to play 1080p60 while streaming for many (Elgato-induced) reasons, looks horrible on gaming monitor, no fun. I haven't tested RTMP yet, but I haven't heard very good things about it.ĭoes anyone know any other way? Or is there just no way around a Cap Card solution to get that buttery 100% smoothness? Anyone know of a good affordable 4K DisplayPort Cap Card? Tested very shortly, seemed great, but I know this is not made for low latency, so I'm worried it's not gonna hold up. But it just started to look sub-par in fast games like CSGO.ĭisappointed, I tried the trick to keep OBS running on the gaming PC (like with NDI), but Screen Project the gaming monitor to the Elgato's virtual 1080p monitor that's used for capturing. I have a very strong LAN, that shouldn't be the issue. Tested it some more and noticed that while often, the image is fluent, it's just sometimes. I tested it, found it to be pretty awesome. Secondly, my monitor only accepts 1440p at 144Hz via DP, not via HDMI, so since most Cap Cards are HDMI, that's dead. "Why don't you just get a 4K Cap Card?" Well first of all, money. But since I got horrible tearing cloning my gaming monitor to the Elgato, I had to use passthrough, so I was forced to play 1080p60. I actually noticed I play better off-stream because I have a better FOV with the full 1440p144. Far-away enemies look blocky and hard to make out sometimes, corners seem pixellated. The monitor wasn't made for that resolution. But it forced me to play 1080p60 on my 1440p144 monitor and that was horrendous. The Elgato is fast, exact, never drops or lags. Games looks great, I have a sponsored gaming rig and a self-built streaming rig, both of which are very strong, and so far I've used an Elgato HD60 Pro between them. It only accepts the full 1440p144 via DP. I game on an 1440p144 monitor with an older HDMI input and a DP input. Thanks to /u/iTruthful and Conceptional for the art!
